The enclosed Report on this question of

Chinese No.1 Tin is a copy of that I have sent to the

Secretary of the London Metal Exchange. I made the

point, when sending it, that we at Hong Kong now

consider that the L.M.E. should carry on with the work,

and that we do not expect to receive any further

complaints now that the source of the trouble has been

pointed out to them. This copy may be of use to the

Colonial office should any further communications be

addressed directly to you by firms of metal importers,

or by the L.M.E. itself, on the subject.
